From Jeri to Itacaré

Our last Jeri sunset. Absolutely the very last sunset you'll see on this site...

5,000km later we finally hook-up with Caio (from our time in Panama) at his home town of Praia do Pipa. This shot was taken just before a session at Dolphinos where he rode a 8'11" gun with no strap as if it was a longboard. It was only as I made my way down the coast that I realised that he's knownas one of Brazil's maddest surfers. His missus is from Panama, nuff said.

Falling asleep at the wheel costs lives, but makes great raodside entertainment for the locals.

And so to Carnival, where stupid haircuts...

...hideous matching pink shirts (bloco shirts=$55)...

....and ridiculous capoeira pants come standard.

Engenhoca. near Itacare. Ruben & I often spent whole days here seeing almost no other surfers. On a good day it was 7' and glassy, on a bad one 6', messy and full of surf school. Most days were very good indeed.
